Service Awards
The Administrative Services division values recognizing employees for their exceptional contributions to the ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥'s (UAA) Mission, Vision, Aspirations, and Core Competencies. Through our three service awards we seek to elevate exceptional service within UAA.
The prestigious Bill Rose Memorial Award is given to division employees who exhibit sustained and superior performance, making significant strides towards fulfilling the ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥'s mission. This award celebrates individuals whose dedication goes above and beyond, shaping the division's success.
Additionally, the Friend of the Division Award acknowledges non-division employees who consistently offer substantial support to the division or one of its departments, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts across the university community. New in 2024 is the Partner to the Division Award which recognizes those official contracted partners who have exhibited sustained and superior performance, which has contributed to UAA’s mission.

Nominations for all awards will be open from June 2 - 27, 2025.
Award winners will be announced at the Division Summer Picnic scheduled for July 25, 2025.

Bill Rose Memorial Award
The Bill Rose Award holds a poignant history tied to the legacy of Bill Rose, who tragically perished in a plane crash at Lake Clark Pass in ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ on August 5, 1999. During his tenure as Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services at UAA from February 1997 until his untimely passing, Bill was a stalwart advocate for excellence within the university and a vocal champion for education in society. His unwavering dedication to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge left an indelible mark on the university community. In tribute to his profound impact and commitment, the Administrative Services division established the Bill Rose Award, ensuring that his spirit of excellence and dedication continues to inspire and recognize outstanding contributions within the university.
- Awardees will ReceiveBill Rose award recipients receive a trophy and a $500 bonus.
- Eligibility
Nominees must be currently employed with a unit under the Administrative Services division of the ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥â€™s (UAA) Anchorage Campus.
Administrative Services units are: Budget Office, Campus/Business Services (includes: ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ Airlines Center, Bookstore, Event Services, Housing, Parking Services, and Seawolf Dining), Employee Experience, Facilities & Campus Services (includes: Facilities Business Office, General Support Services, Health/Safety and Risk, Maintenance and Operations, and Planning and Construction), Financial Services (includes: Accounts Payable and Travel, and Bursar’s Office), Information Technology Services, Shared Services, and University Police Department.
Reporting line must go up through the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services (VCAS). (If a position reporting line goes through a Dean or Director of a college, that position is not eligible for this award.)
Members of the Administrative Services Senior Executive Team (those who report directly to the VCAS) are not eligible for this award.
- Criteria
To be considered for the award, Administrative Services employees must meet the following criteria:
Demonstrate exceptional and consistent outstanding performance.
Show consistent dedication to exemplary customer service.
Maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
Make significant contributions towards achieving UAA's Mission or Aspirations, or demonstrates our Core Competencies.
Employees should strive to embody these guidelines in their daily work and contributions to the organization. Nominations for the award will be evaluated based on adherence to these criteria.
Friend to the Division Award
The Friend of the Division Award was created in 2023. The decision to establish this award stemmed from the Bill Rose Award Selection Committee receiving numerous nominations for employees outside of the division, highlighting the collaborative nature of the university's success across departments. Recognizing the integral role played by individuals from various departments in achieving the university's goals, the award was conceived as a way to celebrate and honor those who consistently support the Administrative Services division, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and cooperation in university achievements.
- Awardees will ReceiveFriend of the Division award winners receive a framed certificate and a $50 gift certificate to the SeaWolf store.
- Eligibility
Nominees can be:
- currently employed with any UA department, not under the Administrative Services division at the Anchorage Campus, or
- an individual or an organization that is an official contracted partner to UAA
Nomination must come from a division employee.
- Criteria
Demonstrates consistent or significant support to the division or one of its departments.
