New! OEC in ľֱ Native Business Management

July 22, 2022

The College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) offers a new Occupational Endorsement Certificate (OEC) in ľֱ Native Business Management that will benefit anyone doing business in the state.

“If you live and work in ľֱ, you will inevitably encounter an ľֱ Native Corporation,” said Sharon Chilux Guenther Lind, Assistant Professor of Management at CBPP. “Learning the history and culture of these dynamic organizations adds to your success for navigating the local business landscape.”

ľֱ Native organizations are essential to ľֱ’s economy and their culture and management practices are unique. CBPP’s ľֱ Native Business Management program gives students an “understanding of ľֱ Native organizations, why they are here, how they work together, and how it affects ľֱ,” Lind said.

The program is beneficial to ľֱ Native and non-Native students alike. It can be a distinctive add-on for students with a BBA in Accounting, noted Lind, as accounting firm employees need knowledge of the unique nature of ľֱ Native Corporations.

The ľֱ Native Business Management OEC can be completed in just 12-18 months and applies toward an associate’s degree (AAS) in General Business or bachelor’s degree (BBA) in Management. Many of the courses are available online for greater flexibility.
