Engage: Introducing ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ns to Health Careers
The ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce (ACRH-HW) offers hands-on training and career exploration programs to help ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ns start their journey in the healthcare field. These programs provide opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials, such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and Mandt De-escalation Training, giving participants a competitive edge for employment in healthcare.
PATH AcademiesYouth Exploration Camps
Kids will participate in hands-on and engaging week-long programs to explore careers
in allied health, public health, behavioral health and medicine. Each camp includes
an industry recognized credential and may be offered for dual credit.
Rural Health CTEPS
In response to the shortage of career and technical education instructors in rural
ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥, the ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ AHEC partnered with the State of ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ Department of Education
and Early Development. Rural Health CTEPS provide districts with qualified instructors
to implement career pathways in a format that best meets the needs of each school.
The Pre-Apprenticeship Training in Healthcare (PATH) Academy is for ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ns 16+ who
are interested in exploring potential career opportunities within healthcare. This
hands-on training helps participants to become CPR certified, receive mental health
first aid training, gain job readiness skills, and learn about employment opportunities
in their area.
Train: Preparing ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥â€™s Future Healthcare Workforce
ACRH-HW supports health profession students in gaining real-world experience through community-based clinical rotations and specialized healthcare training programs. These initiatives target all healthcare disciplines, from certificates to doctorate-level degrees, ensuring ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥â€™s future workforce is well-prepared to serve in rural and underserved communities.
AHEC Scholars is a two-year program designed to supplement and broaden a student’s
healthcare training. Any student enrolled in their final two years of an ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥n healthcare

RIIN
Gain healthcare experience the ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥n way! RIIN is apart of the ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ AHEC Program.
Rural ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥n "Edventure" for undergraduate & graduate healthcare students or professionals
interested in rural health practice. All disciplines are welcome.
The ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ AHEC has certified instructors to provide Youth, teen, Adult MHFA, BLS,
Mandt De-Escalation, and Red Cross First Aid & CPR.
Retain: Strengthening ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥â€™s Healthcare Workforce
To address healthcare workforce shortages in ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥, ACRH-HW provides continuing education, loan repayment opportunities, and workforce retention initiatives. These efforts help healthcare professionals stay in ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ by offering ongoing training, financial incentives, and professional development resources.
CACHE
The Clearinghouse of ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥'s Continuing Health Education (CACHE) is an online catalog
that centralizes continuing professional development opportunities for ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥'s healthcare

SHARP
ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥â€™s SHARP program is our statewide support-for-service effort to improve the
recruitment, retention, and distribution of healthcare professionals through student
loan repayment and direct incentives. SHARP is a public-private partnership working
to support healthcare practitioners in medical, dental, and behavioral health disciplines.
